CALLISTO 6 C is part of the new DALI wireless ecosystem that allows the user to easily access their Hi-Res music from a smart device, either via Bluetooth (AAC/aptX HD) or the optional BluOS app. CALLISTO 6 C delivers a full, three-dimensional and highly detailed soundstage even in large rooms, adding extra width and depth.
The two woofers and the spacious interior of the enclosure ensure really deep bass reproduction and room-filling sound pressure levels. All without the need for complex electronics.

DALI has developed every part of the CALLISTO 6C, from the drivers to the integrated amplifier, which is why they can optimize each component to fit together seamlessly. This allows DALI to design the woofers to be more linear than would be possible in a similar passive loudspeaker.
DALI has taken woofer design to new limits of reproduction, made possible by fully controlling the signal path. Leveraging its potential, the Danes raise the playback to levels that raise almost any combination of amplifier and boxes in its price range.
CALLISTO 6 C connects wirelessly to the Sound Hub via an extremely stable digital connection - compatible with both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bandwidth depending on the location and quality of the connection. With a latency of less than 25 ms, synchronization between video and audio from a movie or TV is at conventionally acceptable levels.
The CALLISTO 6 C includes two 6½" custom woofers that take linearity and low loss to a whole new level. By fully controlling the signal path from source to driver, DALI's acoustics team has been able to elevate audio reproduction beyond that of conventional loudspeakers.
Each element of the CALLISTO woofer is optimized to work in perfect balance with the integrated amplifier, so the soundstage created is rich in detail, temportally coherent and effortlessly immersive. The result is that the music is reproduced exactly as the artist intended.
DALI has used all its experience in developing the OPTICON and RUBICON woofers - as well as a lot of hours of listening - to optimize the magnetic motor to bring it to its peak. With that knowledge the Danes have achieved a symmetrical and very linear suspension within the voice coil and diaphragm area, merely taking control and lowering the diaphragm movement at the most remote excursion points.
The extra linearity achieved by both the voice coil and the spider itself manifests a reduction in mechanical reduction and less stress on the amplifier, leading to greater detail and a better defined soundstage.
CALLISTO 6C woofers benefit from the use of SMC in the magnetic part. When used in a loudspeaker motor system they achieve a significant reduction in distortion due to mechanical loss. SMC's unique ability to offer high magnetic conductivity and reduced electrical conductivity provides the quality needed for a really good speaker magnet while getting rid of its usual drawbacks.
As a result of these optimizations and especially thanks to the use of SMC, CALLISTO 6C benefits from an extremely agile, well behaved and very light weight woofer, which when working together with the amplifier is able to deliver a powerful acoustic signal, coherent in timing and rich in detail.
DALI's hybrid tweeter module has been specifically optimized for CALLISTO 6C. It combines the dome tweeter with a ribbon tweeter for amazing high frequency performance and high dispersion that surpasses all other tweeter technologies.
The dome membrane is very soft and ultra-lightweight, and so thin that it requires coating to keep all the material together and uniform during manufacture. DALI has optimized the magnetic system to maximize the flux saturation in the voice coil. This optimization together with the use of an ultra-fine magnetic fluid for cooling achieves better control, power handling and marginal distortion.
The ribbon, part of the hybrid tweeter module, is of the magneto-static type. Four bands of conductive material make up the active diaphragm, controlled by a powerful magnetic field created around it. The ribbon tweeter is the master of wide dispersion and, together with the soft dome tweeter, results in a tweeter module that can be used as low as 2.0 kHz and continues to reproduce perfectly up to over 30 KHz.
This extreme bandwidth together with the ultra wide dispersion is an important feature of the DALI acoustic signature.
Designing a best-in-class active loudspeaker is the sum of several achievements. One, really important one, is the amplifier, or more specifically, the amplifier module. Any quality amplifier module consists of three equally important parts that need to be designed to work in perfect harmony: the amplifier itself, the PSU and the signal processing.
The input from the signal processing and PSU to the amplifier circuitry must strictly adhere to the needs of the amplifier. Only in this way can coloration-free, distortion-free and coherent amplification be achieved.
The CALLISTO 6 C Class D amplifier is based on state-of-the-art DALI technology with globally recognized, self-oscillating design, chosen for its musical properties. It is capable of delivering 250W for up to five seconds, which is enough power to ensure more acoustic pressure than necessary even in complex musical passages or cinematic explosions.
At DALI's large joinery factory in Denmark, the firm precisely cuts the MDF panels for the CALLISTO 6 C casings, ensuring high quality and then applies the vinyl.
The CALLISTO 6 C housings are made from 25mm solid MDF, and feature a very solid construction with internal supports for reinforcement. This achieves a stiffness and density that virtually eliminates housing resonance. At the same time, great care has been taken not to reduce the internal volume of the enclosure unnecessarily.
Driver assembly and final testing of each loudspeaker is carried out individually, also directly by DALI in its Danish factory.
Thanks to the brand's strict control over every aspect of production, CALLISTO achieves a level of quality and finish that is normally only found in devices of a much higher price range.
