This look is enhanced by the elegantly shaped aluminum base mounted on the two floor-standing models.
The iron pole piece of the OBERON woofer magnet is topped by a patented SMC disc, which minimizes the negative effects of iron. The use of the SMC disc greatly reduces mechanical distortion, which reduces third-order distortion.
This allows for longer listening pleasure, a relaxed midrange and a surprising amount of detail for its price class.
The OBERON woofer features a wood fiber cone with a blend of fine-grained paper pulp reinforced with wood fibers, creating a rigid, lightweight and well-behaved structure.
Combined with a low-loss surround and spider suspension, this cone reproduces the micro-details of the signal, unfiltered and with high accuracy.
An additional benefit is the greatly reduced harmonic distortion and diffractions that cause frequency distortion. That is why all DALI loudspeakers are not designed to fit.
The cabinet shell of the OBERON 9 is constructed of high density CNC machined MDF board, coated with carefully selected high quality vinyl. The cabinet employs a very rigid construction, with solid reinforcements inside the cabinet for bracing. This contributes to rigidity and virtually eliminates resonance inside the cabinet.
To optimize timing, the speakers are equipped with acoustic damping material internally along the sides, top and bottom. This creates more direct contact between the woofer and the bass port. The audible result is a more accurate bass and greater 'attack' in the midrange.
The bass ports are placed at the rear of the OBERON 9, optimizing room integration by utilizing the wall to enhance bass performance.
With the OBERON range, DALI introduces a new front grille design. The new rounded front grille adds a lighter and more contemporary visual appearance to the speaker series. 'Shadow Black' is the standard grille that is supplied in the dark Black Ash and Dark Walnut finishes.
The sleek aluminum base gives the floorstanding OBERON 9 a lighter appearance.
