The Dali Opticon 8 MK2 is the powerhouse of the new OPTICON MK2
It is the only three-way model in the range, and combines two 8" bass drivers, wood fiber diaphragm and SMC magnets with a 6½" midrange driver that benefits from the same technologies.
OPTICON 8 MK2 features optional bi-wiring to allow independent powering of its sections. The OPTICON 8 MK2 driver layout places the hybrid tweeter module between two well-spaced bass drivers.
In this way the treble and midrange are at the typical height of a seated user, and also benefit from a smoother room response to the bass thanks to the space dedicated to the drivers in charge of reproducing it.
This arrangement of drivers in the OPTICON MK8 allows to place them in the room more easily.
Above the midrange driver is a hybrid tweeter module that combines the 29 mm soft dome tweeter of the CALLISTO active enclosures with a 17 x 45 mm ribbon tweeter.
The OPTICON 8 MK2 enclosure has separate compartments inside for each driver, with non-parallel partition panels that prevent internal resonances and increase the rigidity of the enclosure.
Each bass section has its own Dual Flare reflex port.
Thanks to its size and true three-way format, the OPTICON 8 MK2 offers a level of reproduction superior to any other model in the range.
It combines immense bass, powerful volume and dynamic precision with extraordinary levels of detail and clarity thanks to the use of a dedicated midrange driver.
The high frequencies of the hybrid tweeter module are detailed to the point of explicitness while at the same time being smooth and inviting for extended listening.
OPTICON 8 MK2 columns have an aluminum base complete with either black chrome-plated decoupling spikes or, for placement on delicate surfaces, vibration-damping feet.
The tools required for mounting are included as standard.
