Dali PHANTOM K-60 LP

The installation of recessed speakers in ceilings and walls is not always a bed of roses, as the problem often lies in the available depth of the plaster walls, which is not sufficient to fit the classic recessed speakers with their back-boxes. Therefore, DALI is pleased to present the ultimate solution to that problem: Phantom K-60 LP.

The K-60 LP, designed by DALI in Denmark, is a ceiling and in-wall loudspeaker that uniquely combines the highest quality acoustic reproduction with an extremely slim profile and no need for a back-box.

In other words: DALI K-60 LP is the best sounding ultra-thin Custom Install loudspeaker on the market.

Phantom K-60 LP has a thickness, from its deepest part to the front baffle, of only 3.65 centimeters. However, its acoustic reproduction and sound quality is comparable to, and in some respects superior to, similar sized in-ceiling speakers.

All this, thanks to the experience and dedication of DALI Speakers' engineers.

The K-60 LP's mid/bass driver architecture has been fully developed by DALI's engineering team at its headquarters in Denmark, inspired in part by the architecture used in the creation of the smaller sized drivers used in the DALI Katch G2 Bluetooth loudspeaker.

The "low-profile" principles, to achieve compact-sized drivers, incorporate the three main changes in driver architecture that together achieve a noticeable reduction in overall depth without compromising reproduction or reducing the maximum diaphragm offset

First, the curved outer part of the diaphragm meets a wide convex dome at its center. The combination of the curve and the convex part achieves structural rigidity equivalent to that of a conventional diaphragm, but with a much shallower depth.

The second key is that, instead of attaching the suspension to the voice coil as is usually done, it is attached to the diaphragm at the point where its shape changes from curved to convex. This change in suspension mounting allows the motor system to be much closer to the base of the diaphragm and reduces the depth of the entire device.

And finally, instead of being attached to the base of a curved conical diaphragm, the voice coil is attached to the underside of the diaphragm dome. Again, this design decision places the motor system closer to the diaphragm.

The result of these three key innovative points in terms of driver structure is a 6" woofer with a depth that is less than half that of conventional drivers, although its reproduction in terms of frequency response, distortion, compression and diaphragm behavior does not suffer at all from this change in size.

The new architecture makes it possible for the DALI K-60LP to be so slim while retaining DALI Speakers' amazing signature sound quality, and elevates it as the best Low Profile Custom loudspeaker available on the market.
