GRADO RS1x

Leaders of the Drivers X, the 4th generation of Grado transducers, the RS1x have been redesigned to unite maple, hemp and cocobolo wood in lively and elegant earphones.

The Sound of Wood: Maple, Hemp, Cocobolo

For the first time, three different wood species work together in a Grado headphone. The housing is made with maple veneer, hemp core and cocobolo outer ring. Grado has chosen the wood for its quality and great tonal abilities, finding the perfect balance between the three woods, which was no easy task. The reward for so much dedication is the RS1x, which takes Grado to a new level of sound.

Sound signature Grado

Concentrating all its expertise in the 50mm X Driver, the Grado signature sound reaches new heights by joining maple, hemp and cocobolo. The maple does most of the work, the hemp softens the extreme frequencies and the cocobolo provides extra punch. Putting these three woods together, the sound is full-bodied at all frequencies, dynamic and really defined.

Grado X Series Drivers, a new harmony

The Grado RS1x are the first headphones to feature the large 50mm X drivers. Tuned specifically for the RS1x three-wood headphones, this new transducer design features a stronger magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm.

Redesigning these components for the 50mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion and maintains the harmonic integrity of the music.

A little something extra with the new cable and headband

In addition to the drivers, the cabling and headband have also been redesigned for the RS1x headphones. Equipped with greater resistance, the new cable with 8 super-annealed copper conductors gives even greater purity to the music.

For its part, the new black leather headband has white stitching that gives it style and personality.

From Brooklyn with love

Grado's first wooden headphones were created in 1994 by John Grado. Wood has been a regular raw material for the New York firm ever since. Each pair of RS1x headphones is handcrafted in Brooklyn by the firm's team, and this device goes from workbench to workbench until it is ready for the discerning ears of Grado users. The brand got its start on a kitchen table in 1953, and all the experience it has accumulated since then has led to the RS1x.
