The HiBy RS2 mounts the HiBy OS operating system, specifically optimized for the best system-level audio processing, providing a clean and pure audio playback path, ensuring a pure audiophile music experience.
The retro design language merges with the hard and bold lines of the R family. The volume knob, being the element you most often come into contact with, is a diamond-cut, craftsmanship-grade masterpiece. Functionality is not sacrificed, the touchscreen supports touch and double-tap controls.
The simplified menu structure is more intuitive and user-friendly than ever based on a 100% luxurious green and gold theme. The entire user interface has been revamped and adapted for this HiBy RS2.
The Darwin audio architecture is our new in-house developed high-resolution audio processing architecture; greatly enhancing traditional R2R technology, it incorporates a number of studio-quality features, such as linearity compensation for the R2R network, adjustable FIR filter, harmonic controller, NOS/OS switch, etc. in a highly portable device.
The flexible architecture is fully adjustable internally, providing endless possibilities for the evolution of this model and the next.
Fully musical, realistic, natural and analog, very energetic when required, totally immersive for the listener.
NOS mode has no oversampling, which generates a raw response to signal changes; OS mode adapts to the various additional functionalities of the Darwin architecture, making custom adjustments to sound qualities to suit different headphones and different tastes.
The Darwin architecture is capable of oversampling up to 16x, with a variety of AA filters suitable for various design objectives, e.g. phase linearity, high fidelity; also adaptable to the characteristics of different headphones, ensuring the suitability of the RS2 to all types of headphones.
Dual precision crystal oscillators at 45.185 MHz/49.152 MHz effectively reduce phase noise and jitter to -140 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset.
Utilizing current mode amplification, the output stage amplifies current through an OPA1652 and an LPF consisting of 2x OPA1612, delivering clean, high input voltage and current to the output stage for exemplary transient response and dynamics. Together with 2 flagship class OPA1622 amplifier chips, 4 independent channels of current-mode headphone amplification and the NJW1195A professional digital volume controller, the circuit ensures maximum output-to-input fidelity and maximum control over the headphone drivers.
The MQA 8x display offers a reproduction of the original performance on par with the master tapes, transporting you to the same room as the artists!
MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning audio technology that allows music fans to stream the original master recording to their home in the best possible quality. The MQA file is fully authenticated, backward compatible and small enough to stream, so you can play MQA on any compatible device. Wherever there is audio, MQA delivers the best sound.
Supports all major music encoding formats, supports PCM up to 384kHz / hardware DSD decoded up to DSD256.
By inheriting the high configurability of other HiByOS devices, the RS2 can be used as a USB DAC (e.g. playing computer/smartphone audio), but also as output to other USB DACs (e.g. audio output from the RS2 to other USB DACs), and even as output of your audio as digital coaxial/line-out signals.
Up to 10 hours of continuous playback. Standby up to 40 days.
Press the button to toggle charging in USB DAC mode: discharge mode reduces battery consumption in the smartphone and isolates the device from the noise of the external power supply.
Operating system: HiByOS PureAudio version
