HiBy RS8, a flagship without rival

The HiBy RS8 is HiBy's new flagship with Android 12 and Darwin II audio architecture. It stands out for the integration of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 664 and R2R DAC with Class A amplification.

For more resolution and definition, this RS8 supports up to DSD1024, PCM1536 and MQA 16x deployment. All built on a pure titanium chassis and a level of perfection to match the best.

Pure titanium chassis

The HiBy RS8 features a 6-stage CNC-formed titanium monocoque chassis with 17 advanced construction processes, for a tough, high-quality exterior with a comfortable and pleasing texture to hold.

It is topped by a rotary volume wheel for very smooth volume adjustments.

Darwin Architecture II

The Darwin architecture is the new high-resolution digital signal processing architecture developed in-house by HiBy. In a revolutionary evolution of the traditional R2R architecture, the system includes for the first time advanced features such as linear FIR filtering, nonlinear harmonic control, switchable/NOS oversampling and DSD bypass in portable equipment. The flexible end-to-end architecture is fully configurable, creating endless possibilities for future upgrades and endless evolution.

The R2R resistor ladder consists of 12 high-speed switches and 184 high-precision resistors, twice as many as the last generation, effectively increasing dynamic performance and fidelity at low signal levels.

The additional addition of a DC offset correction circuit allows the use of a fully DC-coupled output stage, further improving impulse response. Sample rates of up to 1024x DSD and 1536kHz PCM are supported, exceeding the specifications of many full-size systems in a portable device.

R2R technology

The core of the DAC architecture consists of 12 high-speed switches and 184 high-precision resistors.

The digital signal drives, through the high-speed electronic switches, the trigger voltage to be modulated by the resistor network to obtain an analog voltage waveform corresponding directly to the digital signal, avoiding the high-frequency modulation of DS DACs for a more natural and transparent form. and emotional presentation.

NOS/OS mode switch

NOS mode has no oversampling, responds more immediately and directly to signals, converts digital signals to analog output directly, providing a more analog sound signature. It is best suited for music files/streams with a sampling rate of 192 kHz or higher.

Oversampling mode produces superior measurement performance; it enables all Darwin architecture features, performs custom sound signature adjustments, adapting to different headphones.

Top-notch components

The HiBy RS8 mounts carefully selected gold-tantalum capacitors used to ensure clean power output, higher power supply ripple rejection for lower THD of the resulting system.

Class A headphone amplification

Composed of 2 OPA1652+8x NXP dual bipolar transistors, the class A amplifier features "zero" zero-crossing distortion and instantaneous transient response.

Maintaining maximum output at all times, the Class A amplifier maintains ideal drive and control characteristics over full-size headphones, high and low impedance IEMs and all types of loads. The RS8 maintains a composure befitting a modern flagship while reproducing any complex musical passage through any headphone load.

Turbo mode

  • Headphone amplifier voltage supply: default ± 6 V.
  • Turbo at ± 7,5 V.
  • Per Power = V^2/R, turbo mode produces 56.25% additional power.

*Heat dissipation and battery drain increase significantly when turbo mode is activated.

12000 mAh power bank

A huge battery, custom-designed for the occasion, ensures adequate power supply and battery life for the Class A amplifier to produce the immediate musical transients and also last the distance: 12 hours through 3.5 mm SE and 8 hours through balanced 4.4 mm for longer listening.

Independent power supplies

The digital, DAC, preamplifier and postamplifier circuits are each supplied separately so that there is no interference.

Headphone amplifier circuit powered by 2 high quality DC/DC transformers and 6 fully shielded high power inductors with high magnetic flux, ultra-low internal resistance.

The ultrasonic low pass filter is powered by another DC/DC transformer and 7 LDO regulators, which power the left and right channels independently.

The R2R ladder is powered by another DC/DC transformer and 2 ultra-low ripple LDOs feeding each channel independently.

Strong and fresh

It features a pure copper battery case for high heat dissipation efficiency for cool internal temperatures even in the heaviest operating scenarios.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 665

Using an advanced 11 nm process, the Snapdragon 665 enables smooth operation of multiple applications at the same time, instant response to music search and potential use of any audio DSP.

8+256 storage configuration

Its 8 GB of RAM allows for seamless simultaneous operation of multiple streaming applications; 256 GB of internal storage allows for the storage of large local music libraries.

Android 12

It incorporates Android 12 rewritten from the core for simpler operation and more efficient use of powerful hardware for better responsiveness.

5.5" 1080p display

With Corning Gorilla Glass and oleophobic coating, 1920x1080 resolution, 443ppi, 16:9 aspect ratio.

HiBy OS specific functionality

HiByOS' unique Direct Transport Architecture (DTA) bypasses sample rate conversion from deep within the system kernel, allowing even third-party applications to enjoy seamless output at the original sample rate, whether from headphone outputs, line outputs or USB Digital Audio Output.

System-wide remote operation: HiByCast

Breaking down all barriers, supporting system-wide operation of all device functionalities from a smartphone / tablet, including the operation of third-party applications.

MQA 16x

The high processing power of the SoC makes possible an unprecedented 16x display of MQA data, reproducing the original master tape from smaller and smaller source files.

MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning technology that captures and reproduces the sound of the original studio master in a file that is small enough to stream and download. HiBy is collaborating with MQA to bring truly original sound quality to listeners.

3.5 mm and 4.4 mm headphone and line outputs

The HiBy RS8 features 3.5mm headphone output and 3.5mm and 4.4mm line output.

2.4 GHz/5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi

Dual-band WiFi for double the speed and stability of the connection, compatible with music streaming ready.

Supports DLNA / AirPlay / WiFi music file transfer.

Bluetooth 5.0

Support bidirectional Bluetooth reception/transmission, compatible with all major Bluetooth audio formats such as UAT, LDAC, aptX, aptX HD, AAC, SBC, etc.
