The Micro iDSD Signature structure is based on two Burr-Brown DAC chips, in a custom configuration with a digital engine of four differential signal pairs, two per channel.

This Micro iDSD Signature handles up to PCM 768, DSD 512, 2xDXD and MQA. All of this is done natively. Both PCM and DSD remain 'bit perfect'.

The signal path has been refined to maximize sonic texture. High specification components such as series resistance and low distortion mean premium sound quality and maximum musical enjoyment.
The amp/DAC features a variety of filter settings, so you can tailor the sound to your needs.
The micro iDSD Signature features two digital audio inputs: USB type A and an S/PDIF jack that accepts both electrical signals, via a 3.5 mm connector, and optical signals; adapter included.
It also integrates a pair of analog RCA outputs to connect to a pair of active speakers or a power amplifier and passive speakers, to act as DAC and preamplifier.
There is a 6.3 mm output for headphones that have a standard single-ended jack (headphones with a 3.5 mm jack can be connected via an adapter) and a 4.4 mm Pentaconn output for headphones that offer a balanced connection.
Both headphone outputs use the 'S-Balanced' output circuitry. This offers the sonic benefits of balanced connections to all types of headphones/earphones, even those with single-ended connectors, cutting crosstalk and associated distortion in half.
Mejora de forma muy evidente la calidad de la escucha en todos los aspectos, claridad, separación instrumental, escenario, dinámica, micro detalle, etc, evidentemente también depende de las capacidades de los auriculares, pero con los que he probado: AKG 712 Pro, Audio-Technica M50X, Philips Fidelio X2HR, Hifiman Sundara, Fiio FH7, Camfire Audio Polaris II, la musica suena mas viva, enérgica, nítida, detallada y contundente, sencillamente genial. He probado diferentes reproductores Hi-Res portátiles como el -Cayin N3-, Ibasso DX120, Fiio M9 y por ultimo el Fiio M11 Plus II y ninguno de ellos me ha ofrecido la calidad de sonido sobresaliente y la potencia que ofrece el -iFi Signature- Yo lo definiría como un dispositivo capaz de representar la música de forma detallada y clara sin ser demasiado analíticoy con la calidez justa para resultar divertido y potente, sin sacrificar detalles ni separación instrumental, incluso mejorando de forma evidente las grabaciones con perdidas del formato MP3. A demás de ser portátil, (aunque no es ideal para ello) y ser uno de los mejores implementados y versátiles gracias a unas tecnologías propias como el Xbass+, el 3D+, el iEMatch y sus opciones de cambio del -Firmware- según lo que queramos optimizar para el tipo de resolución que solamos manejar en la mayoría de nuestros archivos musicales.
