We have manufactured a number of "clean power" products in our nine year history to date, but we have never manufactured a specialized IEC power cable for home audio components - until now!
The SupaNova is a specialized active power cable with a high-end construction that belies its affordable price. It offers a serious improvement over standard mains cables imbuing sound with greater clarity, space and definition.
The SupaNova incorporates five conductors, each made of large-gauge continuous-cast OFHC (oxygen-free high thermal conductivity) copper, arranged in a geometrically balanced configuration, which is very unusual at that price.
Two pairs of positive and negative conductors are arranged on either side of the ground conductor, which is placed in the center of the cable. An additional pair of air dielectric insulators, essentially air-filled polymer matrix tubes, are arranged on either side of the ground conductor, keeping the two pairs of positive and negative conductors separate while improving the overall dielectric performance and constructional robustness of the cable.
The cable is finished with a tough but flexible polymer outer jacket and iFi's custom audiophile-grade connectors, complete with 24-karat gold-plated oxygen-free copper conductors.
Two pairs of positive and negative conductors are arranged on either side of the ground conductor, which is placed in the center of the cable. The ground conductor is arranged in a central configuration and not twisted as in other network cables. The positive and negative conductors are arranged in a truly balanced configuration, so their magnetic fields cancel each other perfectly.
As a result, no residual magnetic field is applied to the center ground conductor and there is no unwanted induced voltage on the ground conductor; we call this design Ground Zero.
The SupaNova takes the Nova and adds a cylindrical housing for half its length. It contains our patented Active Noise Cancellation II technology.
ANC II technology actively eliminates much more noise in the frequency range than a passive product, even at the lowest frequencies. We use reverse noise current to cancel noise in the mains signal. The way this works is comparable to noise-canceling headphone technology.

The sonic improvements provided by the SupaNova power cable include greater clarity and definition, plus improved dynamic and spatial qualities, avoiding the apparent softening of leading edges, timing and dynamics that can occur with inferior mains filtering products.
Most power conditioning products enable passive noise reduction through a selection of filters and regulators. While this can be effective, it has inherent disadvantages. Passive noise reduction systems are effective at the higher end of the frequency spectrum, but often less so at the lower frequencies. In addition, passive systems need large capacitors to be truly effective, which makes the best such products bulky and expensive.
The iFi active system uses a reverse noise current to cancel noise in the mains signal. Noise in the mains supply occurs at different frequencies, depending on the cause. Active Noise Cancellation II technology enables a power conditioning device that is highly effective at reducing noise consistently across the frequency spectrum, yet compact and lightweight enough to be placed inside the network cable itself.
