Precision that transports you

The IE 900 quickly leaves behind anything that might get in the way of your most precious recordings. You'll connect to your music in a way no other headphones allow.

Can you imagine spending hours immersed in the finest musical details? This is made possible by the unique passion for high-end sound that drives Sennheiser in Germany.

From the optimized XWB transducers and innovative

The IE 900: no trade-offs

High fidelity recordings are works of art. As with a valuable painting, it would be a shame to allow damage during transport.

The IE 900s reveal the true potential of any recording. If it's a masterpiece, you'll listen to it. Bright and sparkling treble, without a trace of sibilance. Powerful bass without creating muddy mids. An uncanny ability to resolve fine details, along with warmth and comfort for long sessions.

All of these qualities are derived from inspired feats of engineering. For example, we've greatly improved Sennheiser's trusted 7mm transducer for use in the IE 900s.

Or the new X3R triple chamber absorption system milled directly into the solid aluminum core with its downstream acoustic vortex. Together, these innovations offer a unique level of balance and transparency, so you never have to compromise again.

Explore every last detail

Considerable effort goes into capturing the finer nuances of a musical performance. Reliving the creativity and texture recorded in the studio or concert hall can be a source of great pleasure. But it is only possible if the listener's playback equipment allows it.

Our German-engineered and manufactured XWB driver ensures exceptionally natural playback. A large part of its precise transient response comes from the unique combination of materials in the diaphragm along with its high internal damping.

Therefore, when the signal stops, the sound stops too. This is how IE 900s can reveal details on tracks you thought you knew every detail about. But the only thing that counts is what you, the listener, hear.

The tonality of each instrument becomes clearly audible. The IE 900 not only reveals the skills of the musicians, but even the acoustic properties of the room take on a new presence.

Instead of staying on the surface, you can now dive deep into complex sound passages, all while immersed in a stunning soundstage.

A precise fit for precise sound

Musicians in action need high-quality, fitted headphones known as personal monitoring systems. But we feel that the privilege of enjoying perfect live sound should not be the exclusive right of the world's performing artists.

Therefore, we took the comfort and secure fit of these professional solutions as inspiration for the IE 900.

Now you can enjoy fit and quality that rivals what the artists who create your music experience.

Included with the IE 900 are silicone ear tips and three sets of elastic foam ear tips in three different sizes. They adapt to the natural shape of your ear for a custom fit.

A new level of clarity

When developing the IE 900s, we are faced with a fundamental choice. The inherent consensuses that multi-driver systems require (phase issues and resulting distortion in overlapping frequency bands) made the decision easy.

A single dynamic driver would be used, of the highest quality, of course. To get exactly the sound we were looking for, we designed a sophisticated system of three Helmholtz resonators: the X3R.

It is milled directly into the solid aluminum housing of each earbud. These small channels eliminate resonance peaks that, in less advanced products, can color the sound signature and alter the feel of your music.

Additionally, a complex structure in the mouthpiece of each earphone, the vortex, spins acoustic energy in these frequency bands to smooth out peaks.

A rear acoustic volume that establishes balance

Our goal was to achieve a transparent sound without distracting peaks or dips. Something required to achieve this is a clear separation of bass and mids. To ensure accuracy in this critical frequency band, we have employed what is known as background acoustic volume.

It is a small chamber within a chamber that we have adjusted to manage the slope and range of the base elevation. The way Rear Volume helps achieve such a clear and natural sound signature is by controlling the direction and overall volume of the air as it moves through the transducer system.

What you hear is a pleasantly disciplined bass and midrange experience. Unpleasant resonances and listening fatigue fade away in this small space to great effect.

The sound of manufacturing experience

We build the IE 900 exclusively in our famous German manufacturing plant. It is the source of the excellent quality that is associated with Sennheiser products around the world.

Aluminum was the material chosen for this application as it is suitable for high precision milling, as well as providing an aesthetically pleasing and durable home for electroacoustic components.

A five-axis CNC machine precisely cuts each housing individually from a single block of aluminum. The result is a true work of art. Once anodized, the casing becomes highly resistant to wear and corrosion - music to the ears of any daily listener.

The drivers in each pair of IE 900s are matched during our automated manufacturing process to virtually eliminate variation. The result? A transparent soundstage without gaps or gaps.

Perfection wherever you want it

We've all been there: an incredible piece of music ruined by a recurring bass note that matches the resonant frequency of your speakers or headphones, or a harsh high-end sibilance that makes longer sessions uncomfortable.

These kinds of obvious shortcomings are unthinkable with the IE 900s. Everything you will hear is precisely what the artist intended to be present. These headphones are perfect for using at your desk, on a train or during a walk in the woods.

Never again have a listening session ruined by your headphones.

Having good connections pays off

In addition to exceptional sound, audiophiles appreciate durable products. Here the IE 900 also stands out. The gold-plated Fidelity + MMCX connectors guarantee perfect contact.

Each termination sits within a 4.8mm wide recessed socket beneath the housing surface, providing strain relief. The cables themselves are reinforced with para-aramid to withstand many thousands of bending cycles. But they don't have to when they are protected in the included serialized case.

Connect to virtually any digital audio source with the 3.5mm stereo jack, including headphone amplifiers, laptops, and audio interfaces.

Each pair of IE 900 also includes symmetrical 2.5mm and 4.4mm cables for connecting directly to hi-fi components with balanced outputs. Because when you are looking for the most natural and immersive sound, every detail matters.
