Inside, the DAP has a flagship DAC chip ESS ES9039PRO and an output power up to 1070mW at 32 Ohms for balanced output and 305mW at 32 Ohms in 3.5mm output, all driven by a TPA6120A2 headphone amplifier.

If we talk about connectivity, the Onix MX5 integrates improved bidirectional Bluetooth 5.2 and is compatible with LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC codecs; it also has 2.4/5G WiFi to be able to use applications such as TIDAL or functions such as DLNA/ AirPlay and NAS.

With support for high resolution formats and abattery life up to 14h, This Onix MX5 is the Hi-Res player suitable for the most audiophiles.

Shanling's ONIX design bases its aesthetics on a Player body made using CNC machines from high quality aluminum, to achieve a robust and elegant construction.

The best for me

The Onix was a big surprise.

I got the player, and beyond its unique design, it has a tone that's very pleasing to me.

The dimensions are ideal, considering the power and battery size. The display has very good quality and, being OLED technology, it's very comfortable.

The bass is deep and comfortable, and details spread everywhere. It has also an incredible available power. For now, I have listened with my 7HZ Timeless II.

I love the volume knob and the cut made in the case to facilitate use. The OTA upgrade went smoothly.

For me, this a dream machine that I was looking for.
