FiiO K9

The FiiO K9 is the company's new amplifier/DAC with an ES9068AS dual DAC and amplification module developed by THX. In addition to its components, other strong points are the wide range of connections on its rear panel, the possibility of controlling the device through the FiiO control app, or taking advantage of its wireless connection, capable of decoding codecs such as aptX Adaptive or LDAC.

With this, the K9 joins FiiO's line of DACs/amps to offer an unrivaled listening experience.

Two ES9068AS DACs drive the left and right channels and form the high-quality "core" of the K9. Listen to your favorite playlist and instantly immerse yourself in the music.

The ace up the FiiO K9's sleeve is the THX AAA 788+ amplifier, which gives you an extraordinary 1% distortion-free power output up to 780 mW at 300 Ohms and up to 2000 mW at 32 Ohms. No matter if you use low or high impedance headphones, the K9 will rock it with aplomb.

From the DAC to the volume adjustment and amplification, every part of the K9 is truly balanced to reduce crosstalk and reproduce a more authentic sound.

The K9 PCB features a split design, completely separating the main sections of the audio circuit: the power supply, the signals and the analog signal loop. This ensures the integrity of the audio signal being processed.

The six-stage desktop-grade audio circuitry has been meticulously designed to ensure pure and delightful sound. This K9 offers: I/V conversion, LPF filter, digital volume adjustment, buffer amplifier, preamplifier, rear stage unit.

The linear transformer is matched with 4 massive 4700uF capacitors to provide clean and continuous reproduction.

Power stabilization and filtering within the audio circuit play an important role in ensuring excellent sound quality. Each stage of the audio circuit employs ultra-low noise LDOs for voltage regulation.

Precise and stable dual-mode clock management allows the K9 to easily reproduce high-resolution audio with the highest fidelity, as if you were there with the artists.

The K9 employs the QCC5124 Bluetooth chip that supports LDAC/aptX HD/aptX Adaptive and other high-end Bluetooth formats. With the K9, you can listen to music, watch videos and play video games with high quality and low latency.

Bluetooth 5.1 supports formats: LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL, AAC and SBC.

The K9 is compatible with UAC1.0 and UAC2.0 modifications, allowing you to use the K9 with plug-and-play devices or with devices that can work with the K9 via an additional driver for even greater compatibility. The FiiO control application allows you to easily switch between UAC1.0 and UAC2.0 modes.

The FiiO K9 has multiple inputs and outputs:

• Inputs: USB, optical, coaxial, RCA and 4.4mm
• Outputs: 6.35mm SE, 4.4mm balanced, XLR-4 balanced

On the other hand, we have different ways of representing the operation of the device:

• 5 input signals: USB, optical, line coaxial, bluetooth

• LO: Only the rear analog RCA+XLR outputs are active. You cannot adjust the volume with the volume knob.

• PRE: Only the rear analog RCA+XLR outputs are active. Volume can be adjusted with the volume knob.

• PO: Only the front headphone outputs are active and can be adjusted with the volume knob.

Finally, we have three gain modes divided into Low, Medium and High, which adapt to virtually all headphones on the market.

The K9 adopts the well-received design language of other FiiO desktop units and features an aluminum construction made from an integrated stretch + CNC process to ensure strength and precise body finish.

In addition, the K9 can be used both vertically and horizontally, allowing it to become a versatile part of your desktop setup.

The iconic FiiO volume knob is driven by ADC curve reconstruction to allow you to adjust precisely and smoothly through all 120 volume levels, with minimal noise and volume deviation between the left and right channels.

The RGB lights around the knobs not only give the K9 and the desktop space a fun personality, but also conveniently indicate the current audio frequency and Bluetooth format.

Through the FiiO Control app, you can quickly switch between 7 preset music tuning styles of the K9. If the selected tuning style matches the music you're listening to, you can acquire a more vivid and enjoyable experience. If the preset tuning style is not to your liking, the 3 self-defined PEQ layouts will help you precisely match your favorite listening style.

You can connect the FiiO K9 to your phone via Bluetooth and, with the addition of the FiiO Control App, you get access to even more features. Adjust various settings such as filters, status indicators, equalizer and channel balance exactly to your liking.
