The Dali OBERON 7C towers feature a slim rear reflex design and are equipped with twin 7" SMC mid/bass drivers with wood fiber cone and the same ultra-lightweight 29 mm soft dome tweeter as the Oberon 1 C.
Despite its size, the Oberon 7 C is a very powerful loudspeaker with a surprising ability to reproduce any musical style with liveliness and naturalness, even at low volume levels.
The OBERON 7 C features an integral die-cast plinth with anchor points for compatible spikes or feet.
DALI's three OBERON C loudspeakers feature WiFi interface, digital signal processing (DSP) and Class D amplification in a module located on their rear panels.
The two-channel amplification of each OBERON C provides 50W for each mid/bass driver and high-frequency drivers. Crossover functions of the OBERON C electronics are implemented by the 24bit/96kHz resolution DSP.
The OBERON 7 C towers are created for spacious homes where music has room to breathe and a good volume level is required. They suit the most ambitious music lovers and audiophiles looking to make a statement with their music equipment.
With more space and speaker positioning options available in larger rooms, the OBERON 7 C's fit on either side of a screen to play TV audio, but also to play music from CDs or streaming services where they really shine with more demanding sound.
OBERON C bass/mid drivers feature DALI's proprietary wood fiber and paper pulp diaphragm materials, copper-clad aluminum voice coil wiring and, in particular, DALI's unique SMC (Soft Magnetic Compund) technology.
By including non-conductive electrical elements in the magnetic structure, SMC significantly reduces the effect of a variety of distortion-causing mechanisms inherent in the voice coil architecture.
The OBERON C high frequency driver is a damped textile dome tweeter that features an unusually light and wider than average, 29mm diaphragm and voice coil.
A lighter diaphragm means that the drivers' greater frequency response is extended, while the larger diameter increases sensitivity and power handling, reducing distortion and allowing the driver to operate at better frequencies, as is not the case with smaller tweeters.
This allows you to give more margin to the crossover. In addition to improving power handling and significantly reducing signal compression as the voice coil gets hotter due to the higher volume, it features ferro-fluid in the voice coil.
OBERON C housings are constructed from high-strength CNC-machined MDF boards that feature a wide variety of matte or wood-effect finishes.
The housings are designed for optimum rigidity to minimize paper resonance, with corner fillets and, in the case of the large OBERON 7 C, strategic inner arms. Corner fillets have become very infrequent in contemporary housings, but at DALI they know that they ensure the strength of the housing.
The internal damping materials of the OBERON C enclosure have been selected and strategically placed to maximize midrange energy attenuation without degrading the bass bandwidth so common in other reflex loaded loudspeakers.
OBERON 7 C features dual-flare reflex ports on the rear panel of unusually large diameter, designed to minimize port distortion, turbulence and compression while boosting with proximity to the rear wall.
The port inlet delays air turbulence as the volume increases, and helps bass reproduction remain consistent at any volume.
The rear reflex ports have the great advantage of directing any midrange energy coming from inside the enclosure away from the listening position.
The OBERON C's rear panel incorporates a wireless receiver and user interface, DSP equalizer and crossover filter as well as a two-channel, high-efficiency amplifier with an integrated power supply.
The OBERON C amplification features two 50W Class D Closed Loop amplifier modules specifically chosen for their sound quality and dynamic capabilities. One amplifier powers the high frequency driver and the other the bass/mid driver (or the twin drivers in the case of the OBERON 7 C).
The amplifier's 100dB signal-to-noise ratio ensures that even the smallest detail of a quiet musical passage is reproduced with clarity and precision. Feeding the amplifier is a custom-designed 65W (rms) switched source of very low noise, which is capable of spreading resources between the two amplifier channels on demand.
The OBERON C is, as a result, unusually frugal in terms of power consumption, yet delivers a full and complete dynamic and punchy experience when the music demands it.
The OBERON C wireless receiver receives the digital wireless streaming emitted by the SOUND HUB COMPACT or SOUND HUB and, depending on the assigned role of each channel in the configuration (left or right), discards the information that it is not supposed to reproduce. Once the channel-specific data is available, it is sent at 26bit/96kHz resolution to the DSP equalization and electronic filters.
OBERON C loudspeakers are available in four high-quality finishes, applied as a laminate on the cabinet, and include a fabric grille that is pinned in place, although the use of the grille is entirely optional.
The four OBERON C finishes are Matt White, Light Oak, Dark Walnut and Black Ash. They have been chosen to cover the widest tonal range to fit seamlessly into the most common domestic decors.
At the same time, these colors fit perfectly with the fabric grille and aesthetics of these loudspeakers, reiterating DALI's traditional principles that include the sensibility and style of Danish aesthetics.
