FiiO enters the HiFi headphone market in a big way with the introduction of its new FiiO FT3 model, the first open over-ear headphone design with dynamic driver.
After the launch of the EH3NC, the Asian firm is committed to the creation of a truly HiFi headphones with 350 Ohms impedance and a first class internal circuit. The FiiO FT3 mounts a 60mm dynamic driver which, due to its large size, is capable of supporting a higher power output, resulting in less distortion under large dynamic signals. It also allows a lower frequency reproduction for deeper bass level.
The diaphragm is one of the most important parts of a dynamic driver and not just any diaphragm material can meet the demands of headphones like the FiiO FT3 due to the large size of its driver.
After countless tests at FiiO, a beryllium plated gasket + DLC diaphragm was chosen. The FT3 controller's gasket is beryllium coated. This not only results in a lighter gasket, but also a stiffer gasket that can better handle the movement of the large dynamic driver to reduce distortion. The FT3's diaphragm is made of DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), which is very strong and lightweight compared to other diaphragm materials. This means that the FT3 driver is less prone to breakup and this non-linear distortion, while having an extremely extended frequency response and improved soundstage.
The FT3 was designed with great sound as a primary goal and features a 350 ohm impedance to achieve this. Compared to lower impedance headphones, higher impedance headphones more effectively filter out noise for the listener, resulting in a purer sound with a higher signal-to-noise ratio. The voice coil is made of ultra-thin copper-clad Japanese aluminum with a diameter of only 0.0035 mm thick.
This thinner voice coil allows the driver to follow signals better and faster, has anti-interference capabilities and allows for thunderous dynamics over a wide frequency response range.
The FT3 uses powerful N52 neodymium magnets to maximize sound quality with its 350 ohm impedance design. These magnets have been arranged in an optimized asymmetrical internal and external magnetic circuit system. When the voice coil begins to move during sound reproduction, the optimized magnetic circuitry balances this movement of the voice coil and diaphragm, especially during large dynamic changes, allowing for more effective use of magnetic energy and better control over the voice coil.
The FT3 cable has a length of 3 meters and is made of high purity materials such as Furukawa monocrystalline copper.
The exterior of the FiiO FT3 is entirely made of aluminum to ensure rigidity without sacrificing lightness. These headphones are the perfect combination of comfortable listening and long life.
The FT3's design starts with hexagonal elements as a base, and when combined with the usual open-back headphone look, gives a bold sci-fi appearance. The "open back" design features hollow mesh to not only further reduce weight and achieve greater listening comfort, but also to fully unleash the capabilities of your driver in a more open environment.
The FiiO FT3 features an open-back design that reduces unwanted vibrations and resonances and results in a larger soundstage. The result is that music details appear more clearly and naturally in an open soundstage, as if you were listening to a live performance.
Unsurprisingly, these headphones have undergone a lot of fine-tuning tests at FiiO Labs, and the 3-axis swivel design is one of the results of those tests.
The 3-axis swivel design was made specifically for the FT3 to better fit a wide variety of head and face shapes for greater comfort and a better seal to maximize sound quality.
The FT3 driver is angled so that it is parallel to the ear when worn, which helps reduce high frequency response caused by waves hitting the contour of the ear and not entering the ear. Angled drivers can also minimize unwanted reflections caused by headphone sales that would cause standing waves and also reduce frequency response distortion.
In addition, towards the rear of the FT3 housing is a reflective tip that is specifically designed to direct the sound waves produced by the driver to prevent unwanted reflections from interfering with each other, to further minimize sound defects and reduce unwanted frequency response artifacts.
The FiiO FT3 comes with a pair of ear cushion sets that can be interchanged according to your preferences.

Como siempre la marca Fiio no defrauda.Los FT3 son una compra ganadora y como siempre Zococity inmejorables en el servicio....super rápido.Todo perfecto
Para el precio en que son ofrecidos no cabe duda de que son "excelentes"; con un buen sonido, una sólida construcción y más que bien acompañados de accesorios. Eso sí, deben acompañarse de un buen amplificador de auriculares (en mi caso suenan perfectamente con el amplificador iCon Audio que poseo)
Muy buenos estos auriculares en relación a su precio. El DAC SMSL M500 MKII los mueve con solvencia. Tras horas de escucha y distintas configuraciones las almohadillas de tela me ofrecen un sonido más adaptado a mis gustos musicales no acusando fatiga alguna. En cuanto a la experiencia de compra todo muy correcto, que es como debe ser y lo que uno espera. Recomendado cien por cien.
