FiiO K3s

The FiiO K3s is FiiO's new desktop amplifier/DAC that lands with improvements and upgrades, to achieve high-fidelity sound with your headphones.

It is equipped with an XMOS USB receiver chip, and is capable of decoding up to 384 kHz / 32-bit PCM and native DSD256, figures typical of higher-priced, high-end DACs.

The new K3's dual crystal oscillators ensure that any digital audio signal fed to the DAC is exactly correct for even greater sound quality.

This FiiO K3s employs ESS DAC's flagship ES9038Q2M. Compared to the AK4452, the signal to noise ratio has increased by 14 dB and distortion has been reduced by 13 dB.

The circuit design implementing this DAC has been optimized for a low noise floor and clean sound.

Compared to the last generation K3, FiiO has made significant improvements in several performance indicators and overall sound quality, so you can fully immerse yourself in your music.

The K3s adopts a modern USB Type-C input interface for a more reliable and stable connection, including power.

The new K3 implements OVP and a dual-filter circuit to ensure power supply stability, while the digital and analog audio circuits each get their own power supply to greatly reduce crosstalk.

This AMP/DAC also incorporates high and low gain to meet your listening volume needs with finesse and great dynamics.

In addition to an ADC volume control, you can smoothly adjust the volume to a finer and more precise degree, allowing you to use the new K3 with headphones of all sensitivities to bring your songs, games and movies to life.

The all-aluminum black body has been meticulously CNC machined, anodized and sandblasted to ensure the K3s feels rugged yet perfectly textured for a great feel in your hands.

Combined with its small size, you can take it with you wherever you go.

The K3s features two USB modes in Audio Class 2 and Audio Class 1 at the flick of a switch.

The volume knob, with a 45° notch engraved on its surface and perfectly sized to allow easy one-finger operation, is designed to integrate perfectly with the curves of the new K3 body to give it a distinctive touch.

Next to the volume knob is an RGB light that indicates what type of digital audio is coming into the amplifier, so you can visually confirm what you are hearing.

• Use the 1.0 mode to transport the DAC/Amp.
• Turn your turntable into a digital "machine" connected to an external decoder.
• Connect it to a loudspeaker, and use the K3 as a DAC.

Optimized for indoor desktop use, the new K3 is equipped with 3.5 mm single-ended and balanced 2.5 mm headphone jacks.

Both outputs have audio jack detection, which means that when headphones are inserted into the balanced output, the "balanced boost" is automatically activated, resulting in an increase in output power of approximately 50% compared to the single-ended output.

The 3.5 mm line output is driven directly by the OPA1612 operational amplifier to ensure the lowest possible reduction in sound quality.

It can also be set with a maximum output power of 2 Vrms, to ensure compatibility with a wide variety of active loudspeakers and external amplifiers.

The K3s' XMOS USB receiver chip directly converts any USB audio input to digital signal output via coaxial and optical connectors, allowing you to connect to external speaker systems, amplifiers or other decoders.
