The Hifiman Svanar are the new top-of-the-range in-ear headphones from the Asian firm and are already among the most comfortable and tight-fitting in-ear monitors on the market.
Hifiman's engineering team has incorporated brass in the front chamber with an aluminum alloy in the rear, so that the center of gravity rests on the pinna, which is the visible part of the outer ear. This design improves both stability and comfort for hours on end.
The Svanar are the best alternative if you are looking for top-notch IEMs for your moments of relaxation between your favorite songs.
It is impossible to overestimate the importance of brass for music. Their resonant performance and overall density reinforce the sound through synchronous vibration. Hifiman introduces with the Svanar a rear cavity composed of an aluminum alloy that brings the sonic benefits of brass to an internal monitor. The front and rear housings incorporate different materials to further enhance resonance.
The "topology driver" refers to the diaphragm with a special nanoparticle coating applied to its surface. The distribution of the coating has different geometric patterns. By varying the surface pattern, the compound used, the thickness or the geometric pattern of the sound wave formation can be manipulated to achieve the desired audio effect and control.
This translates in such a way that, by carefully controlling the structure of the diaphragm surface, different results in acoustic performance can be obtained up to a level previously unattainable.
When the HIFIMAN team saw the ballet “Swan Lake” at the Moscow State Theatre, they observed that the combination of a sunken orchestra pit with the secondary diffusion ceiling design resulted in an expanded soundstage.
To bring this experience to the Svanar in-ear, the team developed a cavity optimized using a new algorithm, a phase-conductive structural design and a compatible earpiece with custom-developed materials.
With all this, HFIMAN solved three problems simultaneously in one headphone unit: precise and weak treble, rich mids with high-quality sustain and deep and stable bass; the true balance blending point is right at the point of the golden section where the frequency response crosses.
The cables included with the Hifiman Svanar feature the finest silver-coated crystalline copper wire, but users can easily change and upgrade to cables that are compatible with the 0.78 mm pin connector.
