Many large amplifiers have a really annoying mechanical hum (emitted by the toroidal transformer itself). You can hear it when you place your ear close to or next to the chassis.
This is caused by a small amount of DC voltage in the mains making its way through the mains transformer, which 'saturates' and starts humming.
The DC blocker is a smart device that sits on the IEC (at the rear power input) and, as the name suggests, prevents DC from reaching the amplifier. Therefore, it eliminates the hum from the amplifier transformer.
All the advantages of eliminating the annoying hum without any inconvenience.
The larger the amplifier, usually the larger the toroidal which is susceptible to residual DC voltage. Just add the DC blocker on the IEC to prevent DC from entering.
High performance passive glass semiconductor. High dielectric strength of 1500VRMS. UL listed. IEC flame resistant socket/connector/chassis (UL94-V0 flame retardant polymers).
EMI shielding is maintained.
The DC Blocker eliminates DC and eliminates the mechanical hum of the transformer, makes the transformer work in an optimal environment. With the DC Blocker, there is 0 DC step.
