The main feature of the iFi iPower is to reach the zenith of musical performance. This power adapter is equipped with ultra low noise. This means that when using any amplifier or any other music playback device the audio signal comes to you completely free of noise, this new device from iFi is the ideal partner to the iUSB as well as the iPhono or the iDSD micro iDSD to boost them beyond their own characteristics. Three years ago iFi launched its ultra-low noise power adapter and included it in all iFi products to enhance their features, now with its completely redesigned components it will provide a zero noise experience so you can enjoy all your music without distractions.

Active noise cancellation used in the military industry

Drawn from military discipline (Thales Spectra radar cancellation system developed for the French Dassault Rafale jet fighter), iFi has adapted this technology for its Active Cancellation+ system. This revolutionary technology is used to enhance the audio signal. This is done by generating a signal identical to the noise signal but of opposite phase which actively cancels all generated noise. The Active + Cancellation system is the perfect antidote to noise coming from the power supply.

What is background noise in audio?

Measured with the Audio Precision 2, the iPower has an ultra-low background noise of just 1uV which is 10 times lower than the brand's previous power adapter and 20 times lower than conventional adapters that typically hover around 20uV, proving that the noise blocking technology used in this device is second to none.

12-element matrix for current output

All innovation in the field of electricity has been carried out with the sole aim of maximising audio quality. In this case, in addition to this, the power delivery to the device has been taken to another level. After all, electricity is the fuel of audio. The 12-element array used by iFi dynamically suppresses noise in real time as the current passes through the circuit, something never before seen in an electronic design.

Polarity reverser for centre negative products

iFi wanted to make the iPower compatible with most audio products on the market and differentiate itself from other adapters that are only "centre positive". This is a positive detail as in products such as guitar pedalboards or Sony Discman players the power connection has a centre negative pin which will only be compatible with an adapter like the iPower thanks to its polarity inverter.
