The iPurifier2-A is the version compatible with USB type A

In these times the USB standard has been established as the audio transmission protocol but a device is necessary to avoid certain unwanted aspects inherent to that signal.

Based on this need to clean the USB signal, AMR technology has been developed. In 2012 iFi invented the first device that, in addition to offering power, cleaned the USB signal, the iUSB Power. After this milestone, development in the field of USB cables continued with the manufacture of Mercury and Gemini cables. Finally, the original iPurifier was developed to precisely clean up the USB audio signal.

Now in 2015 iFi engineers have gone one step further including all new technology available and encapsulating it in the iFi iPurifier2. With this small device you can improve the USB signal from any DAC so that it reaches your ears clean and pure.

The latest in technology

Constructed entirely of aerospace-grade CNC aluminum and shielded with anodized titanium, the new iPurifier2 features the latest in USB signal cleaning technology such as Active Noise Cancellation® in addition to REclock® and REgenerate®, as well as maintaining the original REbalance® technology.

Active Noise Cancellation® from military radar technology

Drawn from military discipline (Thales Spectra radar cancellation system developed for the French Dassault Rafale jet fighter), iFi has adapted this technology for its Active Cancellation system. This revolutionary technology is used to enhance the USB audio signal.

This is done by generating a signal identical to the noise signal but opposite in phase which actively cancels all generated noise. The Active Cancellation system is the perfect antidote to noise coming from the power supply.

An improved signal: REclock®/REgenerate®.

The iPurifier2 resets the clock signal, regenerates and repeats the data contained in the USB signal. When using a DAC with poor signal, REgenerate technology creates a new USB signal and then employs a master clock signal with REclock technology to completely eliminate jitter. The music flows better, is cleaner, deeper and more precise than before.

Fully balanced signal: REbalance

The USB signal is inherently a balanced signal, however many USB signals are unbalanced to some degree and contaminated by noise. Removing the DC compensation and rebalancing the USB signal achieves a completely noise-free signal.
